For children who have experienced abuse or neglect, having a consistent, caring adult in their corner can make all the difference.
At Henrico CASA, our volunteer Advocates come from different backgrounds and bring unique experiences, but they share a common commitment: to be a steady presence and a strong voice for children who need them.
This November, we're excited to introduce you to some of the remarkable people behind our mission! Each week, we'll share a video interview featuring one of our volunteer Advocates, giving you the opportunity to hear firsthand why they choose to show up—and keep showing up—for children in our community.
Meet Jay
We're kicking off our November Advocate Spotlight series with Jay, who brings a unique perspective to his volunteer role with Henrico CASA. As a foster dad, Jay has seen firsthand the challenges children can face when their lives are disrupted by trauma and uncertainty. His experiences have strengthened his passion for ensuring that children have someone in their corner who will listen, support them, and advocate for their best interests.
For Jay, advocacy is about more than speaking up. It's about showing up consistently, building trust, and being someone a child can count on during an uncertain time.
Watch Jay's interview above to learn more about his journey as a CASA Advocate and what inspires him to continue making a difference!
