Our 2025 Impact Report, entitled Stronger Together, reflects the collective effort of CASA’s community over the past year. Our impact wouldn’t be possible without the collaborative relationships we maintain with Henrico County’s courts, Department of Social Services, and other child welfare focused professionals.

At Henrico CASA, collaboration means actively working alongside judges, attorneys, and social workers to ensure that each child’s unique needs are understood and prioritized. By sharing insights, observations, and recommendations with judges, our volunteer Advocates help the court make informed decisions that support the child’s long-term safety, stability, and well-being.

The Power Of Collaboration

In FY 2024–2025, 100% of judges serving on the Henrico Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court cited value in CASA. This means every judge sitting on the bench recognized the essential role our volunteer Advocates and staff play in ensuring children’s voices are heard and their needs are prioritized in court.

Henrico CASA staff and Advocates attended 453 court hearings throughout the year. At each hearing, our volunteers offer a sense of consistency since they knows the ins and outs of an entire case history. each child’s circumstances.

During the same period, 461 CASA reports were submitted, offering detailed observations and recommendations tailored to the children we serve. These reports allow for judges and attorneys to make well-informed decisions that support safety, stability, and long-term well-being.

Perhaps most importantly, 98% of CASA report recommendations that were considered were incorporated into court orders. This demonstrates the direct impact of our volunteers’ work: their advocacy doesn’t just inform the court, it shapes the outcomes that guide children toward safe, stable, and nurturing homes.

Together, these numbers tell a story of collaboration in action. Through steadfast advocacy and strong partnerships, Henrico CASA ensures that children navigating the court system are not only heard, they are understood, protected, and supported every step of the way.
